World Heritage requires sustainable conservation via effective protection and management involving planning, implementation and on-going phase; however there is a blank pool in the academic field concerning the holistic system of 'on-going phase'. Additionally given the most distinctive characteristics in Asian-Pacific region, the sustainability of cultural heritage is confronted with severe challenges in the process of globalization. That's why this book puts forward two questions: How to deal with challenges of unsustainable development for heritage conservation on a regional scale? How to make it happen in Asian-Pacific region? This book, therefore, builds an operational model to ensure the positive cycling of 'on-going phase' for heritage conservation both in short and long terms.
