This book presents a QoS Management platform capable of considering, in real time, both end user experience and network performance metrics. The goal is to meet the end user QoE employing different QoS mechanisms according to the requirements and network conditions. Releasing unneeded network resources during the transmission means that other users could potentially use them. Ultimately, users pay according to their requirements and the associated network resources. The platform is based on a proposed QoE framework. This framework includes a series of equations which allows the QoS to QoE mapping to be produced. For this work a testbed was built and three types of QoS mechanism were studied. The author by no means has considered to have found an absolute solution to the QoE to QoS problem. However, a novel framework in which it can be investigated has been proposed. The contribution is the Agent-Based QoE Framework itself which has been validated by building the experimental prototype.
